Dec 22, 2008 (newstodate): Lufthansa Cargo will scale down its capacity from the start of 2009.
In a measure to meet the challenge from a retracting market with less demand for capacity, Lufthansa Cargo will reduce its cooperation with World Airways, which up to now has operated two freighters of the MD-11F type and a Boeing 747-400F for Lufthansa Cargo.
The routes so far served with World Airways will after January 1, 2009, be served by Boeing 747-400ERF aircraft in the fleet of the German-Chinese airfreight carrier Jade Cargo International.
Lufthansa Carrier will however continue operating its fleet of 19 MD-11F aircraft.
