Dec 8, 2008 (newstodate): The Icelandair Group may be reconsidering its majority-ownership in the Czech company, Travel Services.
Icelandair Group has reportedly reduced its current 80 percent stake by selling 14 percent of the shares in Travel Service to the CEO of the company, Roman Vik.
In May, 2007, Icelandair signed a LoI to acquire a majority stake in the Czech aviation company.
According to the LoI, the Icelandair Group would take 50 percent of the shares in the Czech private charter airline Travel Service in 2007 and the remaining 50 percent in 2008.
Travel Service is the largest private airline company in the Czech Republic with 10 Boeing 737 aircraft.
The carrier is slated to operate the first of four Boeing 787 aircraft ordered by the Icelandair Group.
