Dec 16, 2008 (newstodate): Sweden's Gothenburg Landvetter Airport will have to wait for Delta Air Lines to start operations.
In November, Delta Air Lines announced plans for the launch of flights between New York JFK and Gothenburg Landvetter Airport, starting from June 11, 2009, with four weekly rotations using Boeing 757-200 aircraft.
Citing the current upheavals in the global economy, the start of operations has now been put on hold.
In Scandinavia, Delta already operates from Atlanta to Copenhagen, Denmark, and from New York to Stockholm, Sweden.
