Dec 22, 2008 (newstodate): Following the launch of flights by Hainan Airlines from Beijing to Irkutsk, Russia, the carrier plans to increase cooperation with the Russian airport.
Hainan Airlines launched flights on the route on October 10, 2008, and now offers three weekly services with Boeing 737-800 aircraft.
Irkutsk Airport has been named GSA for passenger sales in the region, and is now also being appointed as cargo GSA for Hainan Airlines.
Plans are now also being considered for opening a new route by Hainan Airlines between Irkutsk and Shenyang, in China's Manchuria, provided Shenyang airport can be upgraded to international status.
