Dec 11, 2008 (newstodate): On December 10, 2008, Aeroflot received its first Airbus A330-200 aircraft, delivered from the factory at Toulouse.
The carrier earlier signed an operational lease agreement with Airbus covering delivery during 2008-2010 of a total of 10 Airbus A330 aircraft to cover the gap in longhaul capacity till the planned start of deliveries of 22 Airbus A350 XWB from 2014, and 22 Boeing 787, also from 2014.
Aeroflot will receive a second A330-200 aircraft before the end of this year, and by April 2010 the final A330 will be delivered.
Of the 10 aircraft, five will be Airbus A330-200 and five A330-200.
