Nov 28, 2008 (newstodate): Work on a new passenger terminal at Slovakia's Bratislava Milan Rastislav Stefanik Airport may soon start as the winner of the tender is to be announced shortly.
Three Slovakian companies are runners-up in the process for the project, and the first phase of the new terminal is due to be opened by 2010 already, with the full project expected to be completed in 2012.
The Slovak government will allocate 151 mio euro to the project that also includes the modernisation of the airport's infrastructure.
Bratislava Airport generated some two million passengers in 2007, and expects to hit three million by 2010, rising to six million in 2020.
