Official statistics from the country's Keflavik Airport state a deecline by 22.05 percent, y-o-y, in total volumes, to 5,437 tonnes of cargo and mail.
The decrease was mailnly driven by a 36.47 percent fall in Icelandic air cargo imports, to 2,490 tonnes, while exports fared comparatively better with a 9.87 percent drop to 2,947 tonnes.
During the first 10 months of 2008, air cargo and mail volumes were down 9.6 percent to 50,820 tonnes, all percentages compared to corresponding periods in 2007.
