Nov 24, 2008 (newstodate): A new Swedish airline MCA Airlines, is in the making.
The airline will be based at Stockholm Arlanda Airport and operate a MD-83 aircraft on a route to Erbil, Iraqi Kurdistan.
The airline has plans for futher routes to destinations in the Middle East and is allegedly taking over some of the services by Viking Airlines that fell out of grace with Iraqi Airways over royalty issues and subsequently lost its license to operate flights into Iraq.
Both the fledling MCA Airlines and Viking Airlines are backed by Greek capital that also provides the MD-83 aircraft.
