Nov 28, 2008 (newstodate): The first flight by Swedish airline MCA Airlines will take-off today from Stockholm Arlanda.
The flight is destined for Erbil, Kurdish Iraq, and the route will now be served once weekly with a leased DM-83 from the Greek airline Sky Wings Airlines.
From December, the carrier will add flights from Stockholm to Baghdad, Iraq, and a second MD-83 aircraft will soon be added.
In spring 2009 the MD83 will be replaced by MCA Airlines' own Airbus A321 aircraft, and plans are to launch flights from London via Stockholm to destinations in Iraq.
Behind the airline, managed by Gabriel Potamitis, is a Swedish investor group.
