Nov 12, 2008 (newstodate): Mongolia is planning for designating Dalanzadgad Airport as an international airport.
With a 2,300 m runway, the airport served the capital of the country's Omnogovi Province and plans are to set up immigration and border control services to provide international flight handling.
In 2007 the airport handled a total of 19,000 passengers - the country's second largest domestic passenger volume.
Serving Dalanzadgad Airport are Aero Mongolia, and Eznis Airways with three SAAB 340 aircraft.
