Nov 4, 2008 (newstodate): Latvian aircraft brokering company Aeropartneris, based at Riga, sees bright longer-term business prospects despite the current downturn in the aviation industry.
-We have a strong focus on the European market as Latvia is now a member of the EU and also because aviation companies in this region will have to adjust to EU requirements in order to stay in business. This will sustain the need for aircraft that comply with EU standards, says Konstantin Kobilanskis, Aeropartneris sales director.
-We are currently working on seeking clients for Hungarian carrier RAF Avia's Soviet-built AN-26 as well as a SAAB 340F aircraft. And while the market for AN-26 is definitely much depressed also due to excessive fuel consumption, the SAAB freighter will go easily. If we could only find more SAAB freighters for placement with airline operators, life would indeed be easy..
-Besides the European markets we are also working with a few Russian clients, but this business is less expansive for us, says Mr Kobilanskis.
