Nov 20, 2008 (newstodate): The Serbian government's tender for privatisiton of the national airline JAT failed.
When the process was closed, not one party had filed a final offer - including Aeroflot that had otherwise from the start declared its strong interest in taking over the airline.
The government has now decided not to open more tenders after several aborted attempts.
The latest tender was opened on July 31, 2008, offering the sale of 51 percent of the shares with the option for the eventual winner to acquire up to 70 percent in the troubled airline.
