Nov 6, 2008 (newstodate): By decree from the Russian president, Moscow Sheremetyevo Airport has gained a controlling stake in Vladivostok International Airport.
Sheremetyevo will take 52.16 percent of the stake in the Siberian airport that was separated, early in 2008, from the group that also comprised the carrier Vladivostok Avia.
Vladivostok International in Russia's Far East is among Russia's 12 most important airport, and Moscow Sheremetyevo Airport will now be responsible for the moderinsation and expansion of the airport.
Vladivostok International Airport is the second Russian airport to be controlled by Moscow Sheremetyevo that also, earlier in 2008, took control of modernisation at Irkutsk International Airport.
