Nov 10, 2008 (newstodate): Armenian carrier Armavia has aired lofty ambitions for an increase in destinations and the introduction of Transatlantic flights.
The carrier plans "soon" to be able to announce the opening of flights from Yerevan to Los Angeles after having earlier been said to be in talks with Airbus over delivery of an Airbus A330 aircraft, which would the carrier's first long-haul aircraft.
Also in the pipeline are flights to new destinations Calcutta, Berlin, Munich, Barcelona, Lyons, and Zurich.
Armavia, based at Yerevan Zvartnots Airport, operates a fleet comprising three Airbus A319, two A320, one Boeing 737-300, one CRJ 100, one Yak-42, one Tu-13,4 and one IL-86 aircraft.
