On July 9, 2008, UIA became the first airline in Ukraine to introduce a Boeing 737-300SF freighter, leased from GE Commercial Aviation Services, and the carrier plans to lease another Boeing 737-300SF aircraft in 2009.
Since November 10, 2003, the Ukraine International Airlines has operated a joint freighter operation with Austrian Airlines between Vienna and Kiev, and the Boeing 737-300SF has been deployed on this route since September, 2008, contributing to the significant increase in cargo volumes.
