Oct 29, 2008 (newstodate): Tajikistan's private-owned carrier, Somon Air has acquired its first Boeing 737-800 aircraft.
The new aircraft will be deployed to serve flights between Dushanbee and Moscow.
The carrier already operates one Boeing 737-400, qcquired on a wet-lease contract.
The carrier, managed by Rustam Kholiqov as director general, currently operates routes to Moscoe and Dubai and has plans for opening new routes to destinations including Istanbul, New Delhi, Tehran, Frankfurt, and Urumqi.
