Oct 31, 2008 (newstodate): In the first half of 2008, the Swedish IATA cargo market saw little, or no growth in its largest markets.
With 26.5 percent the #1 IATA export cargo market was North America that decreased by 2.6 percent, y-o-y, to 15,675 tonnes.
With 11 percent of the IATA market, China remained almost unchanged - growing only 0.1 percent to 6,502 tonnes, while the South Asian Subcontinent with 10.9 percent of the market dropped 14.1 percent to 6,429 tonnes.
With 8.4 percent of the Swedish IATA export cargo market, the Middle East dropped 25.1 percent to 4,999 tonnes, while South America with 3,982 tonnes and a share at 6.7 percent of the market managed to grow 5.4 percent during the period.
With a growth by 57.7 percent, y-o-y, to 3,603 tonnes, South West Pacific rose the most, while constituting 6.1 percent of the IATA market volume.
With 24 percent growth to 1,726 tonnes, Korea was the market also performed nicely, albeit constituting only 2.9 percent of the market.
