Oct 16, 2008 (newstodate): Italy's Aeronautical Civil Authority has licensed SuperJet International as Flight Training Organisation.
SuperJet International, a joint venture between Alenia Aeronautica and Sukhoi Holdings, is in charge of marketing, sales, customisation and delivery of the Sukhoi Superjet 100 regional jet in Europe, the Americas, Oceania, Africa and Japan, as well as of worldwide aftersale support.
The license is a first step towards the Type Rating Training activity to support the entry into service of the new regional jet, Sukhoi Superjet 100.
The first SSJ100 was rolled out from SCACs final assembly shop at Komsomolsk-on Amur on September 26, 2007, and the first flight was belatedly accomplished last May 19, 2008.
So far the aircraft has performed 32 flights for a total of over 95 hours.
