The project comprised resurfacing of the airport's 2,850m runway, and installation of new runway lighting system and other infrastructure.
Also new at Barnaul Airport in the Altai region is a passenger arrival hall, completred this summer, and plans are to construct a new international terminal by 2010.
The Russian airport investment company Novaport has aired its interest in investing in the airport's continued development.
