Oct 3, 2008 (newstodate): Plans for a new Finnair Cargo terminal at Helsinki Vantaa Airport are still on hold.
-The Finnair Group board will probably review the issue of construction of a new cargo terminal before the end of this year, Erkka Suvikumpu, Finnair Cargo VP Marketing & Business Development, told newstodate at yesterday's Nordic Air Cargo Symposium.
-The design and detailed plans for a new cargo terminal have long been worked out, and construction work may start shortly after a go-ahead has been given.
-It is, however, no secret that the growth in cargo volumes has been affected by vacillations of world trade and economy over the recent period, thus we have so far been able to cope with demands in our existing cargo facility, said mr Suvikumpu.
