Oct 30, 2008 (newstodate): January 1, 2011, will see the start of construction works for a new passenger terminal at Romania's Bucharest Otopeni Airport.
A feasibility study is currently being finalised, and will be fully completed by the end of this year.
The terminal will be built in four stages, with each module to accomodate handling of five mio passengers annually.
Another project comprising the expansion of the airport's departure areas including addition of 12 new jetbridges, as well as the expansion of the international departure and arrival areas to take the airport capacity to six mio passengers per year, was planned to be completed by 2010 but has been put on hold for one year due to financial constraints.
