Oct 1, 2008 (newstodate): Iceland's Keflavik Airport Ltd has named Bjorn Oli Hauksson as its first CEO.
Bjorn Oli Hauksson has worked on the development of aviation infrastructure in Kosovo for the past six years in various roles, including working as the Managing Director of the Pristina International Airport J.S.C. and as program manager for the Icelandic Civil Aviation Administration and the Icelandic aviation service provider company, ISAVIA, in support of The United Nations Interim Administration Mission in Kosovo (UNMIK).
He also took part in directing the merger of the airport operation and the air terminal operation at Pristina and the development of the new company.
Keflavik Airport Ltd is a new company which will assume the combined operation of the Keflavik Airport Authority and the Leif Eiriksson Air Terminal Ltd on January 1, 2009.
