Oct 30, 2008 (newstodate): Kazakhstan's Almaty International Airport is seeing continued development in its air cargo business.
New operators at the airport include the Turkish carriers Turkish Airlines Cargo, Kuzu Airlines Cargo, and MNG Kargo, and Aeroflot Cargo, now operating between Moscow and Hong Kong as well as between Moscow and Seoul via Almaty International Airport, will shortly increase to 12 operations per week.
Cargolux has increased its weekly operations at Almaty from three to five, UPS has gone up from five to six weekly flights, Lufthansa Cargo has increased operations at Almaty from nine to 30 per week, and FedEx has increased from 10 to 12 operations per week.
Expectations are that KLM Cargo and Cargolux will also further increase their volume of operations.
