Oct 9, 2008 (newstodate): The Swedish cargo operator Nord-Flyg plans to receive its first converted Q400-PF Package Freighter by October 22, 2008.
Having already signed up for a second ex-SAS Q400, Nord-Flyg has secured its position as the world's first and so far only operator of the new converted freighter.
Nord-Flyg's aircraft is currently undergoing flight tests for certification by IASA and the Canadian authorities after cargo conversion by the Canadian company Cascade Aerospace Inc.
Nord-Flyg's second Q400 will be delivered by SAS for cargo conversion in Canada in the first week of November, and the conversion process will last four to five weeks.
-We have actually prepared a LoI with SAS for acquisition of a third Q400 aircraft, and this aircraft will probably be delivered for cargo conversion by March or April, 2009, says Ulf Darenius, Nord-Flyg CEO.
