Oct 14, 2008 (newstodate): Aeroflot Cargo saw its cargo volumes soaring during the first nine months of 2008.
In January-September the carrier lifted a total of 110,842 tonnes of cargo, a strong increase by 20 percent, y-o-y.
Freighter aircraft generated 46,460 tonnes of cargo, up 47 percent, while belly loads on Aeroflot passenger aircraft also increased by six percent, to 64,282 tonnes.
The biggest increase was seen in the company's export volumes that increased by 132 percent, y-o-y, to 4,037 tonnes, but transit volumes took the lead with a total of 49,683 tonnes, increasing 31 percent.
Russian imports increased eight percent to 43,033 tonnes, while domestic cargo rose 14 percent to 14,089 tonnes.
