Jan 9, 2008 (newstodate): Excluding cargo charter operations, Latvia's Riga Airport generated the largest Baltic cargo volumes in 2007.
Riga ended up with a total of 5,985 tonnes of cargo on scheduled services, Estonia's Tallinn Airport came second with 4,414 tonnes, and Lithuania's Vilnius Airport was third with 3,334 tonnes.
Riga Airport also fared better in scheduled cargo volumes in 2007, compared to the two other Baltic airports.
Riga Airport's volumes were up 31.6 percent, y-o-y, compared to a modest 2.8 percent growth at Vilnius Airport, and a decrease by 5.4 percent at Tallinn Airport.
While Vilnius Airport reported no cargo charter volumes in 2007, Tallinn Airport saw its cargo charter loads up from 4,833 tonnes in 2006 to 17,352 tonnes in 2007.
