Jan 10, 2008 (newstodate): Estonia's Tallinn Airport saw its cargo volumes up by 19.7 percent in 2007 - driven by rising imports.
Imports thus constituted 96.4 percent of the total volume, increasing 155.7 percent, while exports, constituting 6.7 percent, decreased 3.1 percent.
In total the airport generated 22,764 tonnes of cargo, including 873 tonnes of mail.
The bulk of the cargo volumes was carried on cargo charters from China, with shipments destined for Russia.
Deducting these charter volumes, Tallinn Airport generated only 4,414 tonnes of cargo in 2006.
