Jan 10, 2008 (newstodate): The Russian carrier Rossiya plans to renew its aircraft fleet with a preference for Russian-built aircraft.
The carrier, the amalgamation of the former Rossiya and Pulkovo Airlines, will acquire new TU-214 long-haul aircraft, medium-haul TU-134 and IL-96 aircraft for VIP transportation purposes.
Rossiya, registrered in St Petersburg, currently operates a fleet comprising 22 Tu-154M, three Tu-214, five Boeing 737-500, two Airbus A319-114, two Il-300, four Il-86, two Il-62M, nine Tu-134, and four Yak-40 aircraft.
