Jan 16, 2008 (newstodate): The Russian carrier Aeroflot-Don reports lower cargo and mail volumes in 2007.
In total the carrier, based in Rostov-on-Don, generated 1,869 tonnes of cargo, down 15 percent, and 104 tonnes of mail, down 22 percent during January-December, 2007.
The declining loads are attributed to the lower cargo capacity of the Boeing 737-500 aircraft, compared to the TU-154 earlier used.
The carrier currently operates a fleet of five Boeing 737-500 aircraft primarily on routes in Russia, to Europe and to the Middle East.
