In September, 2007, Tatarstan opened a public tender for management consultancy and reconstruction of Kazan International Airport, with a winning bid expected to be announced in Spring, 2008.
The reconstruction project is estimated to carry a price tag of USD40-50 million for the airport to meet fully international standards.
