Jan 28, 2008 (newstodate): On January 25, Boeing delivered the first of 50 Next-Generation 737 aircraft to Oslo-based LCC airline Norwegian Air Shuttle.
The 737-800 with Blended Winglets, on lease from Babcock & Brown Aircraft Management, is the first Next-Generation 737 to enter the airline's fleet.
In May 2007, the airline announced lease agreements for eight new airpcraft followed by a direct purchase agreement with Boeing for 42 Next-Generation 737, announced in August 2007 -the largest order placed by any Scandinavian airline.
