Jan 8, 2008 (newstodate): A new Latvian project for a freighter service from Germany to Baku, Uzbekistan, and Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, is in the planning stage.
Behind the project are Latvian ground handling company AG Handling and Spedair, a Latvian forwarding and logistics provider.
-The project is conceived by AG Handling and prompted by strong interests among specific export customers in the German market, says Janis Kaudze. Spedair director.
-We are now monitoring the airline market to find a suitable airline operator for the freighter, and a Chinese airline is currently a viable solution.
The two parties have also been airing plans for a freighter service from Brussels via Riga, Latvia, to Kiev, Ukraine, but this project has been temporarily put on hold pending further analysis.
