Jan 23, 2008 (newstodate): A change in ownership will pave the road for establishing the Krasnoyarsk international air transport hub.
A decree has been signed concerning the transfer of ownership from the Russian state to the regional government.
The region will thus take possession of both Krasnoyarsk International Airport and the nearby Yemelyanovo Airport.
The regional government is currently finishing the masterplan for the airport's expansion and a business plan for attracting international transit traffic.
It is known that Russia is putting pressure on Lufthansa Cargo to move its freighter hub from Astana, Kazakhstan, to Krasnoyarsk within one or two years when the airport's infrastructure including navaids systems have been upgraded.
