Jan 15, 2008 (newstodate): The Italian company Alenia Aeronautica, part of the Finmeccanica group, has been granted permission to buy 25 percent plus one share in ZAO Sukhoi Civil Aircraft, producing the SuperJet 100 regional aircraft.
Alenia will equip the SuperJet 100 for foreign sales and business aviation and may also be contracted to produce fuselage parts.
The new deal is the first case of a western company being allowed to buy more than 25 percent of a Russian aviation company.
