Jan 11, 2008 (newstodate): Aeroflot Cargo emerged from its first year of operation, 2007, as an independent company in good shape.
The company generated a total of 121,879 tonnes of cargo in 2007, including 44,971 tonnes on freighters, and 77,000 tonnes on Aeroflot passenger aircraft.
Cargo loads on Aeroflot aircraft increased by nine percent, y-o-y, including 8.8 percent growth in airfreight and 7.7 percent increase in mail shipments.
In November alone, the latest month reported, Aeroflot Cargo lifted 14,991 tonnes, up 12 percent, including 8,019 tonnes in passenger aircraft, up seven percent, and 6,972 tonnes on freighters, up 19 percent.
But Aeroflot Cargo's performance by its freighter aircraft remained hampered by the demanding process of transfer of the DC-10-40F aircraft from Aeroflot to Aeroflot Cargo, and delays in delivery of the MD-11F freighters.
