Sep 12, 2007 (newstodate): Adria Airways has scrapped plans for the acquisition of a jet freighter aircraft in 2007.
The airline's supervisory board has reviewed the situation at its latest meeting in September, and in the Management Board's opinion investments in larger aircraft are currently too problematic.
The management board informed the supervisory board that cargo operations will be restructured and limited, while available reserves will be shifted to achieve above-average passenger traffic.
In October, 2006, the carrier received its second SAAB 340A freighter.
In the first six months of 2007, the Slovenian carrier generated a total of 2,695 tonnes of cargo, up 54 percent.
