Sep 12, 2007 (newstodate): Following on two SAS Q400 aircraft incidents, Bombardier and Goodrich, the landing gear manufacturer, now recommend that operators of Q400 aircraft having accumulated more than 10,000 landing gear cycles be grounded until an inspection of the landing gear is carried out.
The first incident occurred at Aalborg, Denmark on September 9, 2007. The second incident occurred on September 12, 2007 at Vilnius, Lithuania, in both cases without reported injuries among crew and passengers.
Among the latest carriers to order Q400 aircraft is Croatia Airlines that will receive four aircraft, with options for a further two.
