Sep 25, 2007 (newstodate): Malaysia Airlines Cargo is currently in talks with Uzbekistan Airways to extend the cooperation between the two companies.
Malaysia Airlines Cargo operates twice-weekly through Tashkent with full traffic rights, allowing the company to fly imports and exports to and from the CIS markets on the operation from Amsterdam and Basel via Tashkent to Pudong, China, and v.v.
-Tashkent is a kind of CIS sub-hub for us, but also due to shortage of aircraft we are not currently able to expand further on our own. We will have to see what the potentially expanded cooperation with Uzbekistan Airways may bring, says Thomas Buerkle, Malaysia Airlines Cargo Manager Germany.
