Sep 28, 2007 (newstodate): Malaysia Airlines Cargo and Uzbekistan Airways are reportedly in talks to set up a formal partnership before the end of this year.
Plans are to exchange cargo at Tashkent Airport, with Malaysia Airlines Cargo to lift Uzbekistan Airways's cargo to Europe while Air Uzbekistan will distribute Malaysia Airlines Cargo's shipments in the CIS region.
Malaysia Airlines Cargo currently operates two weekly freighter services at Tashkent Airport with full traffic rights, allowing the company to fly imports and exports to and from the CIS markets on the operation from Amsterdam and Basel via Tashkent to Pudong, China, and v.v.
