Aug 13, 2007 (newstodate): During this year's first seven months Icelandair Cargo lifted a total of 25,833 tonnes of cargo, up 6.8 percent, y-o-y.
While ex-Iceland export volumes dropped 0.9 percent, imports increased by 11.1 percent, and transfer cargo was up 33.7 percent.
In July the carrier generated 3,378 tonnes of cargo, up 12.1 percent.
While exports was up only 0.2 percent, imports increased by 23.5 percent, and transfer cargo was up 23.6 percent.
Icelandair Cargo now operates five Boeing 757-200 freighters and intends to acquire one or two more until the delivery of its first of four new A330-200 freighters from 2010.
