Aug 21, 2007 (newstodate): Air traffic between Northernmost Norway and Russia will be resumed from today.
The Norwegian carrier Wideroe will operate three times weekly on a route between Kirkenes, Norway, and Murmansk, Russia, using Dash-8 aircraft.
Wideroe also flew the route in the 90'ies, and won traffic rights to reopen the route under a five-year concession earlier this year.
In the same process, SAS won the concession to open traffic between Tromso, Norway, and Murmansk, but has so far not exercised this right.
