Aug 9, 2007 (newstodate): Latvian airline Concors is seeking a new strong partner to replace SR Technics in the JV for a Boeing aircraft maintenance facility at Riga Airport.
Concors and SR Technics signed their JV agreement in April, 2006, but a management and strategy change in SR Technics has led the Swiss partner to pull out.
-It is crucial for us to replace SR Technics with a good partner with a high reputation, fresh expertise and strong relations in the market, says Ivan Robecs, Concors Airline quality manager.
Concors has built a new 6,700 sq.m hangar at Riga Airport with 2,000 sq.m additional Repair Back Shop, and has plans for a separate two-storey 3,000 sq.m warehouse for aircraft spare parts.
Concors has landed airBaltic as its first aircraft maintenance customer, planning to perform its first A-check on a Boeing 737 Classic later this month.
-After a succesful completion of this first maintenance job we are ready to seek new airline customers, says Mr Robecs.
