Aug 14, 2007 (newstodate): Germany's Hamburg Airport sustained a weak cargo growth in 2006.
The airport handled a total of 77,173 tonnes of cargo, up a mere 2.7 percent despite the new route by Emirates to New York.
A study on the airport's cargo performance has shown that only one-third of the air cargo volumes destined for or generated by Hamburg Airport's immediate catchment area is actually handled by the airport - and of this volume, only one-third flies into or out from Hamburg Airport.
