Aug 21, 2007 (newstodate): Oman Air's plans for starting services to Stockholm may have advanced further by the airline's decision to lease three Airbus aircraft.
In June this year the carrier's manager, Corporate Communications & Media Department confirmed to newstodate that Oman Air will launch a route to Stockholm when it has received the five Airbus A330-200 aircraft due to be delivered from 2009 to 2011.
Oman Air has now decided to lease two A330 and one A310 from November this year to advance its plans for new routes further.
The A330 aircraft will be used on routes to Europe.
As its first priority, Oman Air will open flights from Oman to London, Paris, Frankfurt, Munich and Milan, with routes to other European destinations including Stockholm in the second phase.
The A310 will be used on routes to Asia and the Middle East.
