Aug 7, 2007 (newstodate): In July, Finnair Cargo increased its cargo volumes by 7.2 percent, to a total of 8,104 tonnes.
This took year-to-date volumes to 53,304 tonnes, modestly up 1.5 percent, y-o-y.
Constituting 63 percent of the total volumes in July, and 58 percent in January-July, the carrier's Asian traffic still dominated the statistics, increasing 16.6 percent to 5,096 tonnes in July and 18.9 percent to 30,684 tonnes during the first seven months.
The European volumes, 1,744 tonnes, rebounded in July, up 10.4 percent, while receding during January-July, down 11.4 percent to 12,146 tonnes.
On the North Atlantic lanes, volumes dropped further by 16.3 percent to 699 tonnes in July, down 14.3 percent to 3,985 tonnes in January-July.
The carrier's scheduled charter operations lost further momentum in July, dropping 41.8 percent to 299 tonnes, and down 27.8 percent to 4,266 tonnes in January-July.
