Aug 15, 2007 (newstodate): India has no intentions to buy the Serbian carrier JAT, as earlier rumoured.
JAT has proposed a strategic alliance with Air India with a wiev to a possible ownership.
The indian minister for civil aviation has however made clear that there are no Indian plans for an acquisition of JAT, nor has a decision been made on a possible strategic alliance.
After this Aeroflot remains the most realistic bid on JAT's future after the closure of the tender now underway in Serbia, where a sub-tender for international consultancy on the eventual tender has been opened.
