Aug 27, 2007 (newstodate): As a consequence of the alleged, yet uncorfirmed, missile attack on a Swedish aircraft after take-off from Sulaimaniyah, Kurdish Iraq, Austrian Airlines has now also suspended operations of its four weekly flights between Vienna and Erbil in the same region.
The last flight on the route was performed on August 24.
The Swedish CAA has banned all fligthts between Sweden and Iraq, including the weekly NOrdic Airways flight to Sulaimaniyah and the four times-weekly flights by Viking Airlines to Erbil.
