Aug 23, 2007 (newstodate): AiRUnion has signed a contract for aircraft maintenance with the Hungarian company Aeroplex of Central Europe Aircraft Technology Center, based at Budapest Ferihegy International Airport.
Under the contract Aeroplex will provide aircraft maintenance on AiRUnion's fleet of Boeing aircraft, starting from September 2007 with Boeing 737 and Boeing 767 aircraft, later to be expanded to cover also maintenance work on Boeing 757 aircraft.
To serve its new customer, Aeroplex will set up technical centres at Moscow Domodedovo and Krasnoyarsk Airport.
Scheduled maintenance work on aircraft and engines will be performed at the Budapest facility, while work on wheels, interiors and other jobs will be provided at the Moscow and Krasnoyarsk facilities.
Set up in 1992, ACE is owned by MALEV Hungarian Airlines and is an approved PART-145 maintenance station.
ACE specialises in heavy airframe overhaul, repair and maintenance services of Boeing 767, Boeing 737, Fokker 70 and 100 aircraft and line maintenance services.
Airlines in AiRUnion include Omskavia, Sibaviatrans, Samara Airlines, Domodedovo Airlines, Sakhalinskiye AviaTrassy and KrasAir that recently won the tender for ownership of Malev.
