Jul 24, 2007 (newstodate): Thai Airways International has appointed European Cargo Services, ECS, as its exclusive cargo GSA partner in Austria, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Romania and Slovakia.
The move is intended to boost the carrier's off-line sales in Central and Eastern Europe, and ECL expects to generate more than 1,000 tonnes of cargo annually for the airline in these markets.
The fresh cargo volumes will connect into Thai Airways network via its twice daily Boeing 747-400 passenger services from Frankfurt and daily passenger flights from Munich.
In addition to the 15 tonnes capacity available on each of these flights, ECS Globe Air Cargo will also generate freight for the airlines thric-weekly Boeing 747 freighter services from Paris CDG.
Representing 109 airlines, ECS reported annual sales in 2006 of 269 million from the generation of 360,000 tonnes of cargo for its airline clients.
