Jul 25, 2007 (newstodate): From spring, 2008, Icelandair will open flights from Reykjavik to Toronto, Canada.
The decision follows on the recent signing of an Open Skies Agreement between the two countries, replacing the former Memorandum of Understanding on Air Services that has allowed operations to Canada by Icelandair, the flag carrier of Iceland, since 1995.
Icelandair currently operates flights to Halifax, and the new route to Toronto will be served five to seven times per week with the carrier's Boeing 757-200 aircraft.
The new Open Skies Agreement comprises unlimited traffic for both passenger and cargo flights.
